Bob Barr- what will you do about oil?
June 23rd 2008 18:39
There is one question that I have not seen addressed yet and Barr doesn't touch on his website. The Libertarian Party even fails to place a position on their website: What will you do about the energy crisis that is inevitable?
The other candidates have given their "solutions" which are really just more of the same partisan talk as before. More drilling vs. Punish the oil companies was the argument during this weekend's weekly presidential radio address and Democratic response. Strangely enough, that seems to be the same debate between the presidential candidates. Hmmmm...could it be that neither one is going to amount to a lick of difference? I'll give you more details about that another day...
I wonder how the party of hands-off economic policies would encourage research into better alternatives. If they have a solution that allows for the free market to flourish while developing new energies, I would love to know because the alternatives certainly are not going to give us anything worthwhile.
