More casualties in the War on Drugs
July 31st 2008 15:24
I came across this story in the Washington Post.
According to their report, the mayor of Berwyn Heights or some members of his family were suspected of dealing drugs.
After the mayor picked up a package at the door containing marijuana, the police raided him and shot his two black labs.
The mayor claims to have no knowledge of what was in the package.
More innocent lives lost in the senseless war on drugs.

The most heart breaking part of the movie was watching the people who depend on pot for quality of life (cancer patients, AIDS, etc) crying as they watched DEA agents raiding the pharmacies that provided them with safe and regulated marijuana.
The Federal gov't is in direct violation of the Constitution every time they trump CA state law and shut down these licensed establishments, and I find it infuriating.

I'll have to check out that documentary natalie- thanks for the info!
There is so much wasted money going into the drug wars, not to mention the lives being hurt and sometimes taken over this ridiculousness. It is absolutely frustrating.
