North Carolina had a first as well
November 6th 2008 00:52
North Carolina also had a first after the 2008 election. Bev Perdue was elected as our first Woman Governor. The Democratic Candidate (the only Democrat I voted for) defeated Republican Pat McCrory the current mayor of Charlotte North Carolina.
Bev Perdue got my vote due to her stance on improving education and job training throughout the state of North Carolina. I am sure she got a lot of votes for the same reason.
Pat McCrory just seemed too much in favor of helping Charlotte and not so much the rest of the state. Or at least that is how he was perceived by myself and several people I discussed him with.
