Carrie Prejean keeps her Miss California crown

May 12th 2009 20:19
Perez Hilton must have thought he hit the lottery when he asked Miss California, Carrie Prejean about gay marriage. Hilton didn’t take his job as a judge in the Miss USA pageant very seriously but rather as a chance to get some publicity. When she answered (Paraphrasing here) that she was against it but didn’t want to offend anyone, the vultures landed and attacked.

Despite believing the same thing that the Messiah President Obama does, that marriage should be between a man and a woman, she was crucified in the press and online. Suddenly semi nude photographs of Carrie Prejean appeared online in an attempt to cost her the Miss California crown. I can only hope that nude photos of President Obama don’t surface now, since he is against gay marriage.

In the interest in fair reporting I looked at all the nude photos of Carrie Prejean that I could find. I felt it my duty to keep well informed of all the events going on and to view the photos for myself. Turns out the nude photos of Carrie Prejean were not all that bad and she did NOT lose her Miss California crown.

Of course the liberal left feels the need to smear any person who does not cater to their wishes such as what was done to Joe the Plumber. I applaud Miss California Carrie Prejean for standing up for her beliefs in the face of overwhelming pressure. And as for Perez Hilton’s remarks that he would have jerked the crown off of her head had she won the Miss USA title. Well I am pretty sure Carrie Prejean can kick Perez Hilton’s ass and would love to see it on the next Fox celebrity boxing

My friend, I have no objection or conflict with any of the ideas expressed in your post, but are terms and phrases such as “Messiah President Obama” and “the liberal left feels the need to smear” are uncalled for. The question posed to Ms Prejean was totally out of place and her opinions about homosexual or heterosexual marriages are her own opinions and have nothing to do with her qualifications to win a beauty pageant contest. Ironically, the semi-nude pictures (we agree that they certainly are not pornographic and I applaud your seeking them out in the cause of research) might be relevant.
I think we also agree that Perez Hilton is a low-life, not necessarily because he personally believes in same-sex marriage, but because he felt it necessary to “sand-bag” Ms Prejean and hope that she said something that could be used against her.

If I were advising Ms Prejean, I would suggest as an answer, “My personal opinions on moral issues are none of your damn business and you are nothing but a creepy, dirty old man.”

WOW, for once Jim and I agree on something! Perez Hilton is a dirty old man (or dirty young man, depending on how old you are)!

Just to keep the surprises going, I think the whole thing was unfair too. He did after all, ask for her opinion. And she gave it to him, as is her right.

But it's one thing to personally believe marriage should be between a man and a woman. It's quite another to try and enforce your personal beliefs on other people. Which is what she is now doing by working with NOW. So yeah, I was sympathetic towards her at first, but now that she's joined the ranks of the hatemongers, she has to be prepared to face the opposition that will come her way.

As for the nude pics- didn't that happen to Vanessa Williams years ago? Do you really think it's the "liberal left" or just some sleaze trying to make quick buck?

Thaks for the comments everyone. Jim and Ruby I have now seen it all with both of you agreeing with me to a point on something.

I do think the photos were sold to make a buck. But I also think they were BOUGHT to hurt the girl's reputation.

As for her working with that group, I doubt it would ever have happend if people had ever left her alone. I see no difference between NOW and some other groups who will use a celeb to get their message out.

Ruby, some of the pix were "photo shopped" and the real ones weren't porn. As for her working for "NOW" (National Organization of Warthogs) I think it's another group. Being opposed to gay "marriage" is not hatemongering. It's standing on principles. What Perez Hilton did to her (with abundant help from the MSM) is the real hatemongering. I'm glad Donald Trump kept her in her position and hope she does well. She stood on principle, knowing it could cost her everything. The real hatemongers are in the media.

I support gay marriage because I believe that everyone should keep to their own business but everyone should also have the same rights. I do believe that these photos were sold to hurt her career, but I don't think it was any sort of liberal conspiracy that did it. I'm agreeing with Ruby in that it was just some sleaze that needed a little money. And the people who bought them wanted to hurt her career

ive addressed this issue on another post so ill just cut and paste what i originally said:

my mum was raving on and on about this, i dont respect Perez Hilton, and i dont understand why anyone would ask him to be on a beauty pagent panel

i dont understand why the producers approved such a question, and i think even if she had of said "yes i think it should be legalised in every state" she would still be at a disadvantage with half the people in the room, as it is an issue people generally only 50/50 approved, and some religious people would frown on her approval

it would be stupid as asking her what she thinks of abortion, or stem cell research, or the death penalty, or gun ownership, or defining child pornography, those kind of questions are divisive traps

although saying all that, i think Prejean could have phrased her responses better and said the typical "i think same-sex defactos should have equal legal rights, and civil ceremonies should be permitted, but marriages should be up to individual churches" . . . you know, the kind of thing a politician like Obama would say

but maybe she couldnt say even that, because she doesnt agree with equal rights and civil cermonies?

Great article Randy, and I think now Miss America Pageant is forever stained by Perez Hilton action, and conduct. To welcome him back is a slap in the face of every moral, and honest American, Donald Trump should be ashamed of him self for saying he would take him back, as his only interest is promoting gay marriage, and not being a honest judge.

There was one more point: I don't know why Perez Hilton gets the billing that he gets....I guess in the age of infotainment, we have to take the good w/the bad...
