Republican Sen Bob Bennett rejected by Utah
May 9th 2010 09:59
Senator Bob Bennett of Utah is likely done in that capacity. The 76 year old Republican didn’t get his party nomination to run for a 4th term. Tim Bridgewater and Tea Party favorite Mike Lee finished first and second respectively and will face off in a June 22 primary.
I think this is the start of a trend of ousting incumbents of both parties by a population that is very stirred up by the liberal antics of those in Washington. In a way this is a good thing that even Republicans are losing their jobs in the Senate for not being conservative enough.
However the really far right politics we will be seeing when the Republicans regain the majority will just provoke more lefties to get involved. It is not good for the country to go extreme left or extreme right and it’s really bad to do them alternately.
My own personal beliefs are we need far right wing politics in financial and security matters and a slightly left of center outlook on social issues. I am an Independent who has no love for either party but I lean to the right on non social issues and don’t really care for most of the social issues. Live you live and don’t tell me how to live mine and I will return the favor.
That being said if the Tea Party crowd and other conservatives can get the country going again then I can live with far right views. The far left intends to destroy this country and rule what is left with an iron fist. So I will be voting for and probably campaigning for conservatives.

The Political Brief
Political location-wise, I stand with the Founding Fathers and the Constitution. Both are considered extremely right-wing these days. But the principles have done well for us all these years and will continue to do so, if we, too, "Hold these truths to be self evident."
