Don't sweat the small stuff

We are nitpicking and making ourselves look stupid when we get mad about every little thing that President Obama does. When you blow up about everything then the important things get swept aside. Your readers will say “Well they slam Obama for everything so it does not matter what they say”.
Today I heard Hannity going on and on about President Obama saying America was a Muslim country. Well no he didn’t actually say that. He mentioned (paraphrasing here) that going by the numbers America would be one of the largest Muslim countries. Now that is not true but it still isn’t saying America is a Muslim country.
Obama was also condemned for possibly speaking a little Arabic to the king of Saudi Arabia. Well so what if he speaks Arabic? It does not HAVE to mean that he is a Muslim, and yes I know I covered that already on this blog. I speak some Spanish but that does not mean I am a Mexican drug lord.
And I could care less if President Obama and his wife go on a date. The expense that goes with that is something we should pay without raising hell about it. I didn’t get mad when George Bush went places and I won’t get mad over Obama doing it.
Now don’t think I have suddenly been bitten with the Liberal Bug. I just think if we complain about everything then nobody will pay attention when we call attention to the important issues.

So, if the President takes a weekend at Camp David, or gets on a horse in Crawford, or goes to dinner and a show with his wife, or chops wood at a California ranch, whatever fits his needs and inclination, good for him!
I disagreed with many of Bush (43)'s decisions, agreed with most of those of Bush (41), and Clinton, JFK and most of the domestic policies of LBJ. As to Reagan, I found more fault with his domestic positions he expressed but he was, primarily a pragmatist -- which I think is what we are going to end up with Obama.
But one thing I accept without exception and absolutely: Each and every one of our Presidents have been patriotic Americans, each has acted in what he believed to be in the best interests of this country.
Those who are Democrat or Republican, Conservative or Liberal, wast energy and weaken their respective causes by suggesting otherwise.

I think you make some great points here. I'd also rather we sweat the "big stuff" rather than the little things that make no difference whatsoever.
