The Republicans need a strong candidate
January 8th 2012 18:26
The Republicans can’t seem to find a strong opponent for President Obama. Of course this always happens that somebody will look good then get picked apart. I am glad that I am not a member of any party since they all suck these days. I tend to think anyone can beat President Obama but you never know. I just wish the Republicans had one strong candidate and not a bunch of mediocre ones.
Ron Paul is a whack job who wants to practice Isolationism that is impractical in this day and time. Ron Paul would have us show weakness to our Islamic Terrorist enemies and encourage them to do more attacks here on American soil.
Rick Santorum is too far right wing for my tastes and his dislike of Gays is very distasteful. I also heard a sound bite of him being against using contraceptives which is asinine.
Mitt Romney is a closet Democrat with the closet door hanging open so of course he gets lots of positive attention from the liberal media. I think Romney would be Obama Light and is not conservative enough for me.
And get one thing straight George Bush was NOT a conservative president. Other than the wars he acted like a Democrat. Bush borrowed and spent far too much money to be labeled a conservative.
I guess I want somebody who is conservative fiscally and in National Defense but is a moderate in social issues. The Republicans could win the election against Obama if they find such a candidate for I feel many people feel the same as I do. That is of course if ACORN lets anyone beat President Obama.

The Political Brief
The saying from some years back, "I love my country but I fear my government" has become true right before our eyes.
Nice to see you're back, Randy.

I think the R's have allowed the liberal media to shape too much of the debates so they can slam the candidates at every turn. I also think there have been too many debates exposing too much of the candidates plans to the Dems. Their infighting has been quite comical.
I too consider myself an independent but am registered Republican which you pretty much have to do if you want to vote in GA. I have to go with anybody but Obama though and that is a poor way to make a decision when voting for the highest office in land, but then it is no worse than one who would vote for Obama just because he is black.
